November 10, 2016 | by admin

Commissioner Disabilities, Dr. Atha Vizol has informed Thursday that the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) has declared to observe the third Sunday of November every year as Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) Sunday.
This year, the occasion would be observed on November 20.
In this regard, the commissioner while expressing gratitude to Nagaland Baptist Church Council, requested all the churches under the council as well as those under different denominations to observe this particular Sunday for the cause of Persons with Disabilities  and pray for them.
He stated that according to 2011 Census, there were 29631 persons with disabilities in Nagaland.
Nagaland being a Christian state, he stated that the church has an important and challenging role to sensitize and create awareness to the people.
The commissioner appealed believers to extend concern and sensitize others to accept Persons with Disabilities  into the society and not stigmatize them.
