NSCN (I-M), NSF oppose creation of districts in Mnp

NSCN (I-M) has taken strong exception of Manipur government’s proposal to declare Sadar Hills and Jiribam as districts, as reported.
In a press note, NSCN (I-M) MIP said an emergency joint meeting of the council of kilonsers and steering members held on October 31 at Hebron took strong exception and made a three-point resolution—i. The house took a unanimous decision to oppose such provocative move to the last, ii. The house further univocally reaffirms the ownership of the land that it is a part of ancestral Naga domain and iii. Unless rightful ownership of the land is acknowledged by the settlers, NSCN/GPRN shall never tolerate any move that infringes upon the rights of the owner (Nagas).  However, MIP said NSCN (I-M) was prepared to negotiate on any proposed agenda, if ownership was duly acknowledged and respected.
NSF: In another statement, NSF president Subenthung Kithan and general secretary Boveio Poukai Duo shot off a letter to Nagaland chief secretary expressing concern over the proposal.
Drawing attention of the CS, in the memorandum NSF said the issue needs to be attended to as critical imperative for Nagas and for the peaceful co-existence of the various ethnic groups in Manipur.
While acknowledging the initiatives taken by the Manipur government with various Naga civil organisations with regard to the understanding and agreements of the various MoUs on the stated position of the Nagas against the creation of the Sadar Hills district without the consent of the Naga people, NSF urged upon the CS to take corrective action and to ensure peaceful co-existence as espoused by Nagas.
NSF said, as the apex body of all Nagas, it had been vocal against the creation of any district from the present districts predominantly inhabited by Nagas. NSF said the consent of the Nagas in any matter related with the creation of the Sadar Hill district should be convincingly understood to avoid any untoward outcomes with regard to any government action.
