NSCN (I-M) has informed that 148 members from different Naga political groups (NPGs) “who stayed astray have now decided to join the revolutionary mainstream where it lies the future of the Nagas.”
In a press release, MIP stated that the joint council of NSCN/GPRN consisting of steering executives, cabinet kilonsers, deputy kilonsers and heads of department welcomed them and appreciated the “bold decision” they have taken keeping in mind the aspirations of the Nagas.
According to MIP, GDRN/NNC (Non-Accordist), Ato Kilonser, Hangping Zeliang, speaking on behalf of the group, said that “It’s the people need of demand for oneness which can only bring meaningful solution. Nagas have had enough through division and the only key to achieve our aim is through Unity as such we have taken the step to merge with NSCN(IM). It’s an honour to be a part of it and we are proud to be under this banner. I on behalf of GDRN/NNC assure you that we shall no longer affiliate  ourselves with other organization other than NSCN (I-M) hence we declare our allegiance and that the GDRN/NNC (NA) shall no longer exist”.
Further, MIP stated that the GDRN NNC(NA) president, Khumcho Chilimong, in his speech, said “unity within our brethrens can only bring solution for which they have moved en masse with the NSCN(IM) and that both civil and Army wing of the GDRN NNC(N/A)  has been officially dissolved.”
MIP said NSCN (U) deputy kilonser, Hotovi Awomi, begged for forgiveness from the Nagas for “wandering in the wrong direction.” According to MIP, he said that the NSCN(U) did not represent the Nagas “as it was a fruitless organization.
