Lakhuti Village Council (LVC) and Lakhuti Students’ Union (LSU) have condemned the murder of late Zubenthung Yanthan, son of Yanarao Yanthan of Lakhuti village on October 6.
A joint condemnation note by LVC chairman, Mhonthung Yanthan and LSU president, Steve Yanthan stated that the accused Ninyali Messen, son of Johan Messen of Sishenyu village should be awarded befitting punishment without bail so that such “unspeakable crime” does not recur again.
The bodies further lauded the concern administration and Wokha police for apprehending the murderer, stating that their timely efforts in bringing the culprit to book has set a great example to all anti-social elements. It further stated that such “inhuman and barbaric acts” would not be tolerated in the Lotha society in particular and in the Naga society in general. The bodies also expressed their deepest condolences to the bereaved family and pray that the almighty God would grant solace and consolation to them for the irreparable loss they now mourn.
