WAPO backs M/s Gayatri projects for 4-lane work

Western Angami Public Organisation (WAPO) along with its frontal organisations and respective village authorities resolved to “stand by the work order allotted” in favour of M/s Gayatri-Projects Limited ,allotted by the Ministry of Roads, Transport & Highways for construction of a portion of the four-lane National Highway 29 that fell within WAPO jurisdiction.
 WAPO president Lhouphrevilie Rino and general secretary Keviphotsü Khwükha said the resolution was adopted at the meeting on Thursday at Sechü-Zubza.
It was also resolved to insist that M/s Gayatri Projects Ltd., carry out the work diligently in all sincerity and strictly abide by specifications provided for ensuring quality workmanship and to complete the work within the specified period. 
WAPO also committed to extend necessary support to M/s Gayatri Projects Ltd. to ensure that the work proceeds smoothly without opposition, obstruction and objection from any quarter.WAPO also promised to deal with any elements causing any disturbance or disruption on the project within its territorial domain with all seriousness.
It also appealed to all to support smooth execution of the project since Dimapur-Kohima road is the main lifeline of Nagaland’s economy.
WAPO also backed the demand of Rengmas for a Rengma district and urged upon the state government to accede to the demand at the earliest possible time.
It may be recalled that Nagaland Suppliers & Contractors had demanded  that M/s Gayatri should first complete the abandoned 2-lane road projects under Special Accelerated Road Development Project (SARDP) Phase-I.
