Rashtra Bhasha Hindi Siksha Kendra, Monday celebrated Hindi Diwas at Ram Janaki higher secondary school Dimapur with NPCC president, K V Pusa as chief guest and DMC member Vikheho Zhimomi as guest of honour.
Addressing the function, NPCC president KV Pusa said Hindi Diwas was a celebration of National Language Day and it is observed in commemoration of September 14, 1949, when Hindi was chosen as the national language.
Pusa acknowledged the good work that the Rashtra Bhasha Hindi Siksha Kendra (RBHSK) has been doing in promoting the National language through education.
Hindi was officially the national language but whether Hindi would truly become the national language or not would depend a lot on what the education system had to offer, he said and in this respect he believed that the role of the RBHSK for educating educators in training Hindi teacher cannot be undermined.
Pusa further said that learning of Hindi should not be considered assimilation of the Hindu religion or culture, but clearly known that having Hindi as the national language did not mean Hinduism was the national religion of India. “We should not allow such a mindset to handicap the growth of Hindi in the land,” he stated.
DMC member, Vikheho Zhimomi, who spoke in Hindi, said that Hindi is an important language for communication for everybody, therefore students and teachers should put emphasis on this language.
He called upon the Hindi teachers to take responsibility to teach this language to the students and at the same time, urged the students to take it seriously.
Cultural items was presented by students of RBHSK and Ram Janaki Higher Secondary School.
