In view of the recent outbreak of avian influenza (bird flu) in Assam, the State government has decided to ban import of poultry and its product from neighbouring Assam with immediate effect as part of preventive measure until further notice. State chief secretary in a notification requested departments concerned to strictly comply with the directive.
