Funeral programme of late Ruopfükhrielie Seyie composer, singer, theologian and real estate broker was held at the native village, Mengujuma Saturday after receiving the ashes from Los Angeles Naga fraternity.
Speaking at the funeral service, general Thinuoselie Keyho said son of soil who lived in Los Angeles, USA contributed immensely for promotion of Naga culture abroad through his newsletter “Nagaland for Christ’ and expressed amazement at the amount of material that went into its publication. He also said that it was because of the broad vision and determination that late Seyie ventured into a big country and his death posed a great loss to the Nagas.
Vikuoneizo Nakhro, advisor, Christian Revival Church Chakhro sub-council and Chakhro Public Organization representative expressed solidarity with the bereaved family but mentioned that God’s plans were higher than men.
Rev. Viratuo, advisor CRC sub- council opined that God had a season for everything while consoling the grieving souls that eternal peace was secured for the departed soul. Others who spoke at the funeral included Neigwetuo Mor, Robert Pelletier and relative Principal, North East Biblical Seminary (NEBS) Kecha Seyie. The relative thanked Robert Pettelier, Nagas in LA, Atouzo Neihulie, Kevi Meru and Naga fraternity who contributed materially and physically.
Late R. Seyie was born to Rovi and Mrs. Khriekuonuo, the first Christians of Mengujuma village.
The funeral programme was led by Lhoumese Kesiezie, Pastor, Mengujuma Christian Revival Church. One of his self composed song ‘A a medoko’ was sung by the Mengujuma youth. Vizokhrielie Seyie, brother thanked the gathering for their support. The funeral was conducted by Rev.Dr.Luozilie Sanchu, Executive secretary, ACRCC.
