Night train services have been suspended in Assam ahead of Republic Day with the state government receiving inputs on possible terror strikes on trains. A statement from the NFR, Maligaon said that running of all Mail / Express and passenger trains in Assam have been suspended between 6 p.m and 6 a.m (night running) with effect from 6 p.m of January 24 till 6 a.m of January 27. As a result of this, 13 pair of trains has been cancelled on January 24, 25 and 26; 14 trains have been rescheduled and six pairs of trains have been partially cancelled.
