Phek deputy commissioner, Zachive Thele held a meeting at town hall Chizami on February 23 with VCC, town committee members, VEC Chairman, VDB Secretaries, government official, Women VDB secretaries, DBs and GBs and public leaders and well wishers under Chizami sub-division.
According to an official bulletin, while speaking on the occasion, DC said that while serving as a public one should work with sincerity, integrity and deliver justice to the people.
He also opined that education plays an important role in this fast changing world and competitive age and called upon teachers to give more efforts, energy, sincerity and dedication in the journey of imparting knowledge to our children so that we can create a better place to live in for ones future generation.
The need of the hour being quality education, he called upon people to be careful while tackling with their children. He also said VCC or GBs play the most important responsibility in the justice delivery system to the people and called upon them to maintain justice and truthfulness as they represent godliness on earth, adding, under VDB and SSA schemes many developments are taking place in the village and called upon village leaders to utilize the funds judiciously.
He also said teachers are the main architects of our younger generation and cautioned against inability to do rightful job and that one needs to maintain good attitude, justice, and truthfulness and to have faith in God in order to progress.
Teachers are well trained, he said and encouraged the students to avail the opportunities and move forward with the changing times to compete with the rest of the world.
Phek assistant district coordinator, Vechisa delivering short speech said the aim of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan scheme was to provide compulsory education to all children from 4 to 14 years of age and also to deliver quality education. He also explained how SSA scheme were implemented in the schools- like free text book, mid-day meal in school, education guarantee scheme, annual grant, classroom extension etc.
The meeting was chaired SDO (C) Chizami Pfuchukha Krome, invocation prayer led by Chizami Baptist Church Associate Pastor. About 200 people from various villages and towns attended the meeting.
