AIS Tsg celebrates foundation day
DIMAPUR: 33rd foundation day of Akum Imlong School (AIS), Tuensang, was celebrated on March 10 marked by presentation of various programmes including songs and choreography by the students. Exhorting the students, both academic in-charge and headmaster, Chubanungla and G. MTC councilors quit Congress
DIMAPUR: Three councilors of Chumukedima Town Council (CTC) have resigned from the Congress due to lose of confidence in the party leadership including witnessing of uncertainty and coordination amongst them. According to a press release issued by the resigned members, they appreciate the decision made by Miatho-u Krose, INC candidate 5 Ghaspani-II A/C by resigning from the Congress at the same acknowledged and pledged their stand to DAN government under the leadership of chief minister, Neiphiu Rio.
DC Tsg prohibits arms, ammo
DIMAPUR: In view of the forthcoming parliamentary election and by-election to the 54 A/C Tuensang Sadar-II slated for April 16, the deputy commissioner and district election officer Y.L Jami has issued a prohibitory order banning on possession of licensed arms and ammunitions and any kind of lethal weapons by public, with the exception of the security personnel . The order has been enforced till the completion of election processes in the district to ensure peaceful, free and fair elections.

DCC Peren clarifies
DIMAPUR: District Congress Committee (DCC), Peren, in response to the various press releases by certain disgruntled segment of Congress party, has made various clarifications on the issues. According to the clarifications made by the committee, in regard to the twelve villages of the hill sector (Peren A/C) meeting, no decision for mass resignation was taken and also for the northern Zeme area Congress committee and the mass resignation as reported in media, no such organizations existed for which it termed the report as bogus and misleading. The clarification also termed the resignation of Lungchile (mahila) as unfortunate but added that no one was indispensable and further stated the Congress of the district has re-imposed its faith and support in the leadership of NPCC president, KV Pusa and CLP leader, Chingwang Konyak.
Communitisation of health services reviewed
DIMAPUR: With the aim to take stock of ground realities of communitization, and to work out how best the department can move forward to improve where necessary and possible, the directorate of health & family welfare, Nagaland, Kohima held a ‘State Level Review Meeting on Communitization’ with chief medical officers of all districts.
According to an official bulletin, following the introduction given by additional director, Dr. Imtimeren Jamir, and every CMO made a presentation on the status of communitization in the concerned district, which was followed by open interaction with director (Family Welfare), Dr. Kumuni Kathipri as the moderator. Besides CMOs other senior officers and members of the state communitization committee also took part in the review meeting.
Wokha NCP meet
DIMAPUR: Wokha Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) March 7 conducted a joint consultative meet comprising of parent body, mahila, 36 A/C office bearers, youth wing and village unit.
Addressing the joint meet various party leaders emphasized on the need for setting up party office and appoint president at district headquarter for smooth and effective administration of the party, Wokha NCP vice president, Nzanbemo Lapon in a release stated.
The release asserted that they also expressed concern straightening the party activities with regard to ensuing Lok Sabha election. The party leaders also expressed dismay over the improper setup of party leaders at district level.
The meeting observed two minutes silence in respect of its former president late Rembomo Erui who passed away February 6, the release stated.
