Vaccines for livestock

To control various animal diseases, directorate of veterinary and animal husbandry would be distributing vaccines for foot and mouth disease, hemorrhagic septicaemia black quarter, fowl pox, enterotoximia, brucellosis, Ranikhet disease (RDF1 and R2B) etc on March 15. The directorate has notified all officers to conduct mass immunization of livestock and poultry in their respective districts to control various ‘economically important diseases’ in the state, for which farm managers have been asked not to sell unvaccinated seed stock to the farmers. All district veterinary officers have been informed to collect the vaccines on or before the scheduled date during the office hours. The directorate has also notified the livestock and poultry farmers to cooperate with the department and get their animal vaccinated against diseases in time from the nearest veterinary health centres.
