St. John School, Tsg wins science quiz competition

Tuensang assistant commissioner IAS Kesonyu Yhome said science played a vital role in modern society which gave a lot of human and environmental progress in 21st century.
Speaking at the science quiz competition held Thursday on the theme ‘global warming and its effect’ at Tuensang, Yhome urged the students to grasp every opportunity to bring laurel in the society. He lauded the principals and headmasters of various schools in Tuensang for promoting younger generation in the scientific age and expressed hope that more programme on science would be organized in future for the up liftment of student’s community.
Sponsored by the department of science and technology Kohima and organized by principals and headmasters of Tuensang, the competition was attended by 20 students from 10 schools. St. John school bagged the first position while Holy Angel School won the second position, Holy cross school and Government High school Thangjam bagged the third and fourth position respectively.
Earlier, the programme was presided over by the head mistress of St. Xavier School Lutsangla while welcome address was delivered by P.S. Surendram headmaster of Loyem Memorial School, vote of thanks was proposed by Chubala Imchen headmistress of GHS Thangjam. The participants of the competition included St. Josheph School, Government High School Thangjam, St. Xavier School, Loyem Memorial School, Holy Angel School, Akum Imlong School, Holy Cross School, Government Higher Secondary School, 3RD NAP High School and St. John School Tuensang.
