NEZCC spring fest concludes

A six day long North East Spring Festival concluded with performances from popular king of folk blues, Guru Rewben Mashangva, and Nagaland’s popular musical group, Ballad Fusion Tuesday.
Rewben Mashangva a folk singer, musician, composer and researcher is a Tangkhul Naga, hailing from Ukhrul District in Manipur, and a leading exponent of Hao music.
He performs on the Tingtelia (Pena), a violin type instrument as well as the modern acoustic guitar and harmonica and enthralls with his voice and the message of his songs.
Ballad fusion is a classical crossover band from the State of Nagaland comprising of highly accomplished singers and musicians who have undergone formal training in Western classical music as well as traditional Naga folk music. Their forte however, is chorale music.
The festival was organized to showcase the diverse and rich heritage of the country.
Altogether artistes of different streams of art forms, ranging from folk, tribal and traditional music, dance, theatre, Choral music, folk fusion, performed at the spring festival. Director, NEZCC V. Hekali Zhimomi, IAS, delivered vote of thanks putting on record the support extended by Chairman of NEZCC, Governor of Nagaland, state chief minister and Dimapur district administration.
