PHD lauds Dimapur police
DIMAPUR: Poumai Hoho Dimapur (PHD) has lauded Dimapur police for their commendable job in recovering one of the two vehicles belonging to Hrülounü which was snatched from his residence at Toulazü, Dimapur, at gun point on February 3. The Poumai hoho in a press release issued by its president, L. Chaomai, stated that police could apprehend one of the culprits and also recovered a vehicle (Scorpio) due to meticulous persuasion and perseverance. The release also stated that apprehended culprit revealed the names of his accomplices with one of them purportedly belonging to a certain underground faction while also requesting the authority to book the culprits at the earliest and award exemplary action. Meanwhile, PHD has also said Hrülounü’s relatives were reported to be threatened to refrain from assisting him in the case and further warned of dire consequences if he doesn’t withdraw the case. PHD has appealed civil societies and tribal hohos to cooperate and strengthen the authority concerned to bring the case to its logical conclusion.

Transfer of IAS/NCS officers
DIMAPUR: State governor has issued transfer order and posting of three IAS/NCS officers with immediate effect.
According to a press communiqué issued by joint secretary, Khriesatonou, Dr. Anu Aggarwal, IAS, on return from leave is posted as additional secretary, School Education, against existing vacancy, Akhup Thangsing, NCS, SDO (C), Thonoknyu, is transferred and posted as SDO (C), Ranlan (designate), against leave vacancy while John Chawang, NCS, SDO (C) Ralan (designate) is transferred and posted as SDO (C) Thonoknyu vice Akhup Thangsing transferred.
The communiqué further stated that Akhup and John should complete the handing and taking over by March 31 positively in view of the ensuing election.

Ind, Cong and RJD workers meet
DIMAPUR: A consultative meeting of independent, Congress and RJD party workers of Nihokhu, Kuhuboto and Medziphema units under 5 Ghaspani-II A/C has been convened on March 31 at 10 am at the farm house of MLA K. Hollohon, Kukidolong.
Kroiler chicks for sale in Wokha
DIMAPUR: Farm manager (CRC) Wokha has informed prospective poultry farmers that vaccinated Kroiler chicks (2 weeks old) was available for sale from March 28 at chick rearing centre, below CMC, Vankhosung, Wokha. Interested farmers have been informed to avail this opportunity as the price would be at subsidized rate. The sale would be first come first serve basis.
DC Mon notifies
DIMAPUR: Deputy commissioner Mon Dinesh Kumar has informed all presiding and 1st polling officers who did not report for election training on March 28 at district headquarters to mandatorily report for training on March 30 and 31 at DC conference hall Mon, 11 a.m failing which disciplinary action would be initiated against them and the matter would be referred to chief electoral officer Nagaland and election commission of India for further course of action. DC Mon has further directed all nodal officers for elections appointed by all departments to notify the presiding and 1st polling officers, and incase of their absence, the nodal officers of HOD would be held responsible.
Dmu Mahilas organise joint meet
DIMAPUR: Dimapur mahilas had a joint meet of NPMCC, DMCC, AMCC of all the five constituencies at Congress bhavan, Dimapur on March 28. The meet was chaired by DMCC president Ayangla. DCC president Kilen Aier in his speech encouraged the mahilas to work hard for the ensuing Lok Sabha and By-polls. During the meet, all the AMCC presidents assured full support for the party. NPMCC secretary S. Bendangla, and NPMCC vice president Amenla in their speeches encouraged the mahilas to be united adding that the mahilas should be peacemakers. Amenla, meanwhile also requested the party workers to take membership of Rajiv Gandhi Panchayati Raj Sangarthan. The meeting was well attended by mahilas from different constituencies.
DC Zbto ban arms
DIMAPUR: Deputy commissioner Zunheboto has prohibited carrying of firearms in the district with effect from April 1 till election is over.
ISL training
DIMAPUR: International sports leadership training (ISLT) level 1 would be held at life spring corner from April 27 to 30 with a registration fee of Rs. 200, which includes T. Shirt, pad and pen. Interested person may contact Thamsing at 9436263372 or Mongzeung at 9436264031 on or before April 15.
JPN informs public
DIMAPUR: Jalukie Pumling Nko (JPN) has informed that individuals buying and selling of land within its jurisdiction without the consent of the office would be doing at his or her own risk. The JPN further informed that it would oppose recognition of villages under its jurisdiction by the government if JPN’s approval is not taken into consideration.
USLB meet
DIMAPUR: An emergency meeting of United Sangtam Likhüm Bümji (USLB) has been convened on April 7 at Longkhim town for which all its members have been informed to reach the town by April 6.
D(B) VC notifies
DIMAPUR: Diphupar ‘B’ Village Council has notified all general public and financial institutions that any form of mortgage in lieu of land should be duly verified by the council’s authority within the village jurisdiction before dealing. The village council in a press release jointly issued by its chairman, Kakiho Sumi, and secretary, Mhathung Lotha, stated that failing to adhere with the council’s notification, any encumbrances arises, the village council would not be held responsible.
DC Zbto informs
DIMAPUR: Deputy commissioner Zunheboto Zachive Thele has informed that the training for presiding and 1st polling officers which was scheduled for April 2 has been postponed to April 3 with the venue and timing remaining the same. DC Zunheboto has further informed to all responsible that the medical board of Zunheboto would be held on April 6 from 10 a.m onwards and has directed all who have applied for exemption from election duty on medical grounds to appear before the board.
IGNOU counseling
DIMAPUR: Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has informed that there would be counseling classes on April 4, 10 a.m. at Nagaland College of Teacher Education (NCTE), Kohima. IGNOU NCTE Kohima B. Ed. Programme in charge, Elizabeth has requested all the B. Ed students to enroll under IGNOU study centre-2009/P for the counseling classes.
