Socialist Janata Party (SJP) national vice president, Akhei Achumi has alleged that he was “physically attacked” by about 50 NPF youth workers who came in three Gypsies with machete, sticks and stones and surrounded his residence at Naharbari-Purana Bazaar, Dimapur on April 7 at around 10 p.m.
Condemning the assault on him, Achumi in a release claimed that even as he requested the youths to have peaceful campaign, they declined and challenged him. Achumi said the SJP was yet to decide which party to support during the election but that with the “bad behaviour and misconduct” of NPF workers, the party has decided to “fully” support Congress candidate. He has requested all the SJP party workers to stand for Congress candidate especially in Dimapur.
