ADC calls on polling officers for duty
DIMAPUR: In spite of issuing appointment orders and directions through various means to attend for training/ rehearsal, some presiding and polling officers have reportedly failed to attend 2nd round of training. A press release issued by ADC and returning officer Y. Limomo Lotha13 A/C Pughoboto stated that officers failed to attend the meeting basing on ‘flimsy grounds’. In this regard, the ADC has directed all presiding /polling officers drafted for the ensuing Parliamentary election for 13 A/C Pughoboto segment to report for the final round of training on April 14 and to attend polling duties.
Final trg for polling personnel in Dmu, Mkg
DIMAPUR: Final training for polling personnel in Dimapur would be conducted on April 13, 11 a.m at Government College Dimapur. DC and district election officer Maongwati Aier has directed all officers to attend the training programme. DC has also directed all grade-IV staff to collect the appointment letter on the same day. Meanwhile, DC and assistant returning office, Mokokchung C.M Tsanglao has directed all polling personnel drafted for election duties to attend the final briefing and rehearsal session on April 14 at 9am at town hall, Mokokchung, which would be briefed by him

DIMAPUR: A public meeting of all Congress members, ward committee members, ACC, AMCC, AYCC, DMCC, DYCC under I Dimapur-I A/C would be held on April 13, 4pm at Clock tower junction Dimapur. Adhoc President Odinungsang requested all members to attend the last round of meeting.
Poetry fest in Tripura
DIMAPUR: A two day 3rd North East Poetry Festival 2009 would be held at Agartala, Tripura from June 27. The festival will be held on the theme ‘Imagine, Dream, Change the North East 2020. The festival is being jointly organized by the Poetry Society of India and the Information, Cultural Affairs and Tourism (ICAT) Ministry, Government of Tripura. According to coordinator North East Region Poetry Society of India, Noel Manuel altogether 250 poets from across the North East were expected to participate in the 2-day event that will be organized at Tripura University campus. Various other sponsors were in the process of confirming their participation that is being overlooked by the state coordinators of Tripura. DIMAPUR: Deputy commissioner & DEO, Kohima, Sachopra Vero has directed all vehicles requisitioned for polling duties which were supposed to report on April 12, to report positively on April 13 at 8am at Kohima local ground.
