Auto fired at by unknown miscreants

In what seemed to be a kidnapping attempt, the police found an auto toppled with a single bullet shot from a 9mm pistol near the Sub-jail, Thursday around 2.30 pm. Ironically, this happened just an hour and half before the polling ended for the day, which was rather assumed to be peaceful.
According to police, the auto coming from Kashiram was chased by some persons on foot while suddenly a Maruti Zen emerged and joined the chase and shot the auto from behind. The police also added that the auto belonged to one Birbal Dutt. Till the time of filing this report, there was no further information regarding the occupants of the auto nor the Zen.
