Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) and the Dimapur Naga Students’ Union (DNSU) have appealed all heads of educational institutions in Dimapur to close their respective institutions on May 5 so as to enable the students take part in the NWHD’s proposed rally on that day.
DNSU through a press statement issued by its president, Solomon Awomi also informed all students from class 8 onwards to participate in the rally, if holiday was granted.
The NWHD has informed all the Naga women in Dimapur to wear the common traditional Mekhla designed by it during the rally. It informed those women who do not have the Mekhla to wear their own traditional attire.
The proposed rally will begin at 7: 30 a.m from the Petrol Pump near Super Market and proceed towards City Tower via new Fly Over, Church road and U turn at Holy Cross junction to City Tower for a platform rally. The NWHD also informed that the proposed rally would not affect the normal life of the public.
