CCSU in letter addressed to DC, Tuensang by Secretary, press and information, Bumet Changshou stated, the move for cancellation of dealership and non-issuance of the permit was taken in view of the general denizens of Tuensang town facing innumerable economic catastrophe at the hands of ‘few monopolist’ who had taken control of market price of essential commodities resulting in high rates. Purchasing power had become beyond affordable for many and given birth to many social evils for which CCSU had unanimously approved to bring an end to in its 45th session, the letter stated. The union has appealed to the district administration to intervene and to ensure that such system was eliminated on or before June 10.
Meanwhile, in another joint letter addressed to Managing board, WEC and VEC, CCSU President Mongko Chang and vice-President R. Ngaku Chang, informed that it would conduct surprise checking on the educational system within its jurisdiction with effect from the issue of this notice. CCSU stated that checking was initiated due to un-satisfactory handling of educational system and various malpractices by few teachers such as ‘negligence of duties’, ‘being absent without genuine reason’, ‘improper guidance and teaching of students’, ‘unwanted replacements’, ‘drawing salaries without performing assigned duties’ etc. With a view to change the trend and create healthy and bright future for the students, CCSU said it would initiate and impose ‘No Work No Pay’ for the ‘erring teachers’ and has directed denizens to send complaints in regard to such practices and negligence to the union. Further, it has said that course of action might even extend to explanation call, reporting to department or whatever deemed fit and that there should be no compromise for the ‘erring teachers’ in the matter.
