Effort to check bogus appointment

To verify the authenticity of teachers’ appointment and to examine files, documents and records of administrative approval for ascertaining authentication and also to identify persons involved in processing appointment of teachers through fraudulent means or through misinformation to appoint candidates without proper sanctioned post, department of school education organised a programme for interactive session on quality education in Nagaland at Zonal Council Hall, Kohima under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Nagaland Lalthara on May 13.
According to an official bulletin, chief secretary in his welcome address stated the interactive session was held to address and find solutions to correct the educational system. He stressed on importance of teachers qualification to uplift standard of education in the state.
Additional Chief Secretary, School Education, Banuo Z. Jamir calling on support from NSF and other organisations laid emphasis on the need to address the bogus appointment, redeployment of teachers, transfer and posting and ratio of teacher as per students.
ANSTA President, Kepelhoutuo Chusi who also spoke, suggested for a policy that would ensure all teachers to be selected through a standardized recruitment examination. The session was attended by representatives from NSF, NBCC, ANSTA, other NGOs and senior government officials.
Important suggestions made by members present at the interactive session include:
1. To trace out the exact number of sanctioned posts to check the bogus appointments.
2. Proper guidance and direction on role of DDOs in the district.
3. To trace out the exact number of attached teachers.
4. Placing of photograph of all teachers in school.
5. Ratio of teacher as per number of students.
6. Updating of all appointment order.
7. Need for proper training institutions for the teachers.
8. To add a hologram on appointment orders
9. To maintain a pin code number for every teacher.
