Acting on a tip off, police apprehended two extortionists while extorting money from shops in the heart of the capital in broad daylight.
Police on receiving specific information about a group of miscreants going around extorting money from shops in Phoolbari and adjoining areas, swung into action and apprehended two of the extortionists while at least three other accomplished managed to escape.
The arrested were later identified as Mukheme Yim, son of late Lokhimba of Chothopur village under Tuensang district and Hekuto Sema, son of late Sazheto of Keyeshe village under Zunheboto district. Both the arrested had reportedly told Police that both were CEC members of the NNC (Non Accordist).
Police recovered some amount of money and documents from their possession.
