With a new hope to create peace and understanding between the recovering addicts and their parents, Redeemer Alliance Network (RAN), a support group on Sunday conducted a special devotional service at its office, Super Market, Dimapur.
Exhorting the congregation of recovering addicts with their parents and guardians, President RAN Khekiho, called upon them to be strong in their journey, free from the bondage of drugs. He assumed the recovering addicts were not fully accepted by their parents, church and society. As such, sometimes they were caught in the middle due to dejection and discouragement. However, he urged the inmates to move forward leaving behind all the past sins as one had to struggle in recovering their life.
Sharing their life testimonies, the clients expressed wonder of God’s grace and His mercies in saving their lives. Calling upon the gathering to discard the use of drugs, they shared about how many of their friends had left this world due to the use of drugs and how they sold out their properties to satisfy their desire.
The devotional service was organized by recovering addicts with the motive to seek recognition from their parents, society and church as well with the message to let people know they were human and had a vision to reacquire the ethics and morals that once existed before drugs entered their lives.
It may be mentioned that RAN is a support group formed since 2008 to help one another in recovering from drugs stigma and RAN clients are undergoing oral substitute therapy (OSD) under Bethesda Youth Welfare Society. Weekly Sunday service is being organized by RAN clients as part of their activities.
