Infrastructure aid for SMC

The 69 Engineer Regiment under the aegis of HQ 3 Corps provided infrastructure aid for setting up of a functional gymnasium to Sakus Mission College (Arts) at Dimapur on June 20. The aid was envisaged by Lt Gen RK Loomba, AVSM, General Officer Commanding 3 Corps.
Gen Loomba in his overall plan on development of infrastructure in surrounding area had planned on providing aid for development of schools and colleges in Nagaland which do not have the basic amenities.
Col Ashwani Gupta Commanding Officer 69 Engineer Regiment on behalf of Gen Loomba distributed fully automatic treadmill, exercise cycles, dumbbells, football shoes, badminton racquets and such other sports equipment along with necessary accessories to the college.
According to a defence release, the aid was provided under the “Op Sadbhavana” project of the Indian Army. The project was executed under the able guidance of Brig HS Dhanny, Chief Engineer spear corps. The aid would not only help in developing a healthier Army-Civil relationship but be of great help to the youth of Nagaland. The College authorities thanked Gen Loomba and the Army Engineers for their contribution and support in the larger interest of the people of Nagaland.
