July 16, 2009 | by admin

A four-day spiritual empowerment programme got underway today at the Living Word Fellowship under the theme ‘Covenant With God’ with more than thirty youths including several from various colleges and schools in and around Dimapur as campers.
The organizers of the camp representing the Living Word Fellowship will facilitate aspects on spiritual development and Christian discipleship. Other resource persons will also conduct several sessions.
Praise and Worship and prayer sessions are part of the daily routine.
The inaugural function Wednesday was addressed by the founder chairman Geoffrey Yaden who emphasized on practical applications of Christian life through biblical wisdom and understanding in tackling current problems faced by youths.
Later Mrs Atsü explained about the theme ‘Covenant With God’ and the Greek name ‘Mahanaim’ adopted as the name of the camp.
Another facilitator, Kevi spoke on the theme ‘Knowing God’ where she said ‘quite time’ could be spending time with God and communicating with Him to grow deeper in relationship with God and explained the need to have quiet time in life.
Stressing on God’s creation, she said God created man to have fellowship with man but because of sin there was relationship gap between God and man. However, she explained that through His son Jesus, the relationship was strengthened where one could freely and directly communicate with God adding it should be one’s priority to love God and have the desire to have Fellowship with Him.
She assumed one could have relationship with God through ‘quiet time’ by reading and listening to His Words and that spending more time with God would enable one to hear His voice.
The campers will be imparted with biblical insights into various aspects of everyday life including practical sessions that include sessions on performance and arts, addiction, HIV and AIDS, fear of God, repentance and talent show.
