ENSF 2nd general session begins in Mon

The 2nd general session of Eastern Nagaland Students’ Federation, comprising six tribes Chang, Konyak, Khiamniungan, Phom, Sangtam and Yimchunger started with an introduction session on July 20.
Welcoming the federating units of the ENSF to the ‘Land of the Angh’, Khungchah Konyak, president, Konyak Students’ Union called upon the gathering to move forward and endure new heights adding “our march of a just prosperous and peaceful society should start in right earnest from this very occasion.
Khoiwang, president Konyak union advised students to move forward in every aspect and not to fall into anti-social elements. In his presidential speech, Y. P Chillio said the districts of Tuensang, Mon, Kiphire and Longleng shared a unique common history, which came from the fact that before the merger of Tuensang with Naga hills, people of the four districts were called “free people”.
During the Tuensang Frontier Division (TFD) days under NEFA, he said the main focus was on development of human resources and as such, the entire system of education, economy, and administration were different from the present scenario.
However, he felt that with the merger, a feeling of alienation arose due to errors committed during and after the formation of Naga Hills Tuensang Area (NHTA).
He also stressed on the feeling of mutual trust and understanding among all the Naga tribes spread across the four corners of the state, so as to create a strong and united feeling.
