INTUC for revival of NPCC Ltd

Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), Nagaland Pradesh Branch has appealed to the responsible authorities to expedite the revival of NPCC Ltd at the earliest. INTUC in a joint meeting held with the workers union, Nagaland Pulp and Papers Company Limited (NPPC Ltd.) Paper Nagar Tuli on August 19 stated that the Board for Industrial and Finance Reconstruction (BIFR) has approved for revival of NPCC Ltd, on May 29, 2007 to complete its revival in time frame of 27 months with a total cost of revival of Rs. 552.44 crores. However, it was observed that, despite the lapse of more than 25 months no work for revival has be seen on the working platform.
INTUC in a press statement by its vice-president, M. Shami Angh also pointed out that the grievances of workers of NPCC Ltd, has been lying unattended and for which the two bodies demanded for immediate relief to the following; implementation of 6th pay commission, implementation of earned leave of 300 days with encashment facility, increment of age of superannuation from existing 58 years to 60 years as followed in all the concern HPC, revision of the pay scale of eleven casual employees from 1987 pay scale to 1997 pay scale and immediate discontinuity of the needless action on one worker namely Sikha Guha. It also urged the responsible authority to immediately look into the issue of erring official from NPCC Ltd so as to pave way for early revival and betterment of NPCC Ltd.
