In a significant development, the NPSC has admitted anomalies and errors committed in declaration of the recent prelims 2009 results besides agreeing to rectify and reassess answer scripts of all candidates after which prelim results will be declared within one week’s time.
According to NSF vice president Sinhilo Thong and general secretary O.Wati Jamir, the NPSC agreed to the above at a joint meeting held on September 2 at the initiative of the NSPC held at the chairman’s office chamber.
The NPSC also agreed to rationalize mistakes in the bar code of answer scripts of candidates and also agreed that it will not to victimize deserving candidates instead but accept sole responsibility if any mistake is committed on its part.
It also agreed to notify marks obtained by candidates publicly outside its office besides agreeing to undertake re-evaluation of answer scripts of any candidate who so desires. The NPSC also agreed to black list the company involved for errors committed and for which it was blamed.
According to the NSF the meeting was held against the backdrop of another anomaly detected in the NPSC examinations 2009 pertaining to recent results of the prelims examination.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the “lackadaisical and insincere attitude of the Commission” , the NSF also charged the Commission with “inefficiency” of its staff in dealing with and handling examination affairs. The NSF slammed the NPSC for lack of transparency on issues such as the current situation, which it said, has been the “usual manual of the Commission” .
Keeping in mind the importance and necessity for corrections in the interest of the present and future generations and for restoring justice to the affected candidates, the NSF said it has put forward its suggestions for immediate redressal of errors related with wrong coding of answer scripts of the recent prelims examination results.
