Pointing out that the adoption of the 5th Central Pay Commission (CPC) scales in Nagaland was a unique mixture of central as well as state scales, the Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA) had demanded that the adoption of the 6th CPC scales be total and in the true spirit of the recommendations.
Likening the plight of the state government employees to that of “beggars” CANSSEA in a letter to the chief minister said consequent upon the implementation and grant of 6th CPC’s pay packages to the central employees and the prices of all commodities skyrocketed in recent months.
Drawing a comparison with the neighbouring states, the Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA) said those states whose NSDP growth rate were not better than that of Nagaland had “marched ahead with some positive actions on this issue of common interest and concern.”
It was pointed out that states like Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya have issued relevant orders/notifications sanctioning the pay packages under the 6th CPC.
The Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA) also expressed displeasure over the government’s “callous and lackadaisical attitude” towards the 6th CPC.
It expressed the hope that the state government under chief minister, Neiphiu Rio would leave no stone unturned to implement the “most logical, rational, genuine and justified demands” with effect from January 1, 2006,the date of effect of the adoption of the 6th CPC’s pay packages by the government of India to its employees.
