GOC reviews security situation in NE

To review the security situation in Northeastern states Lieutenant General VK Singh, AVSM, YSM General Officer Commanding in Chief Eastern Command arrived at Rangapahar Military Station on December 28. He was received by Lt Gen NK Singh, AVSM, and VSM GOC Spear Corps at Airport Dimapur. During the visit the General discussed security situation in the North East with senior military officials of the Corps.
According to a defence release, the General is scheduled to visit Zakhama Military Station and Dinjan. At the interaction he complimented and lauded the efforts of troops in improving overall security situation and contributing towards development of the region through ‘Op sadbhavna’ and ‘Samaritan’. He urged every one to rededicate themselves to help the local populace and development of the region in every possible way. He stressed upon the need to keep abreast with the latest technology in view of the ongoing modernization in various fields. He also conveyed New Year greetings to the people of the region.
