Noting that the operation of several stone quarries along the NH 39 often caused landslide, water logging and obstructed maintenance of road and disturbed the normal flow of traffic, the deputy commissioner Dimapur, Maong Aier has issued an order stating that no stone quarry would be allowed to set up along the highway from Dimapur to Piphema. The order stated that violators would be prosecuted as per the provision of law.
