Retirement case adjourned

April 14, 2010 | by admin

Supreme Court of India Tuesday again adjourned the hearing of Nagaland Retirement from Public Employment (2nd Amendment) Bill 2009 case to May 4 next.
The case, which was listed in item no.3 and heard in court no.9, was deferred owing to the extensiveness of the case and other important cases already fixed, Nagaland Senior Government Employees’ Welfare Association (NSGEWA) general secretary Thunglamo Ovung told Nagaland Post over the phone from New Delhi.
He said that lawyers of both the parties were present in today’s brief hearing.
It may be mentioned that, bowing to the NSF’s demand to fix the length of service at 33 years or 60 years of age whichever comes first, the government of Nagaland introduced the Nagaland Retirement from Public Employment (2nd Amendment) Bill 2009 and passed the same in the assembly.
