Storm hits Shamator

A high velocity storm swept through Shamator on Saturday night causing some damage to buildings in the area. The high winds which lasted for over an hour damaged four rooms in St. Xavier School, Shamator, structure of Assam Rifles campus and displaced roof tops of some shops in the town.
The damage to the school was immediately attended to by civil authorities, Assam Rifles personnel, public leaders, school management, Church council and people from all walks of life.
“It is our school and we will do our best to restore it to a running condition,” said a volunteer who had come to help repair the school.
