Illegal felling of trees along NH 39

Department of Forest has cautioned against any person indulging in felling of roadside tree plantation along NH 39 without permission.
According to Divisional Forest Officer, Temjenyabang some people had felled roadside tree plantation, especially eucalyptus trees from NH 39 without prior approval from the authorities.
It notified that felling of such trees was illegal, irrespective of the ownership of land, as those were government property.
The department notified that defaulters would be booked as per appropriate law.
