One killed in road mishap

One person was killed while two others received minor injuries in a road mishap at 1 ½ kilometers away from Chumukidema police check gate .
Police said the mishap occurred at around 5.30 p.m. Saturday when a truck bearing registration NL06 A1-2967 traveling towards Kohima suddenly hit a culvert. One of the victims died when he hit a rod that pierced the neck while the other two received minor injuries.
Though the name of the deceased could not be ascertained at the time of filing this report, police said the case was settled in presence of police who arrived at the spot, as there was no other party involved.
