Plea for lifting blockade

May 23, 2010 | by admin

All India Tribal Students’ Association Delhi (AITSA) has appealed to all “right thinking leaders” of Naga tribes and Naga student leaders to lift indefinite economic blockade on NH-39 and NH-53 in interest of poor tribals at the earliest. AITSA president Khamchinpau Zou said blocking the life-line of more than 23 lakh people, consisting of 41% tribals, for the purpose of fulfilling one’s demand, was “too harsh” and difficult for larger innocent public. It also urged Manipur government to withdraw PIL case against the presidents of ANSAM and ATSUM.
