scholarship for engineering students
DIMAPUR: Directorate of Technical Education has informed all the final year students undertaking degree and diploma engineering courses within and outside the state that scholarship payment would be made from June 14 to August during working hours from the office of additional director and HoD, Kohima. All the candidates have been requested to bring their identity card and collect in person and those unable to come personally may authorize someone to collect, for which a copy of attested identity card need to be enclosed.
DC Wokha to inspect bridge construction
DIMAPUR: New DC Wokha, Rovilatuo Mor NCS who has taken the charge of DC Wokha recently, is scheduled to visit Bhandari HQ on July 12 to inspect the ongoing construction of Chubi bridge at Doyang Hydro Project, after which he will inspect SDO (C) Office Sanis and Bhandari ADC HQ. He will also inspect ongoing works of Wokha-Merapani work. The purpose of his visit is also to oversee the census operation at Sanis and Bhandari sub-divisions.
MMC cautions on market monopolization
DIMAPUR: Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) has cautioned those who indulge in market monopolization of certain commodities within MMC area. This was issued following report that some persons were indulging in unauthorized market monopolization. MMC in an order cautioned all such unauthorized person to stop running of self-imposed dealership, agency, and distribution immediately. ADC, Mokokchung and MMC administrator, R. Asenla Keitzar notified that authority would take its own course of action if anyone were caught violating the standing order.

DIMAPUR: Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers union (NCSU) under the establishment of NCSU Kohima head office has appointed W Khape as acting president Dimapur unit as per recommended by Dimapur (unit) office.
PPVC to issue BPL Kerosene oil
DIMAPUR: Padum Pukhuri Village Council (PPVC) has informed all the residents of Padum Pukhuri that 2 litres of BPL Kerosene oil would be issued for three days from June 12 to 15 at Council hall from 6am to 12pm.

DIMAPUR: Orientation course on civil defence subjects related to disaster management would be held from June 21 to 25 at Central Training Institute Toluvi, Dimapur. 16 AR seizes liquor along NH-39
DIMAPUR: A mobile patrol of 16 Assam Rifles seized 10 cases of McDdowell rum and 18 cases of beer on NH-39 near milestone 40 on 08 June 10. According to a defence release, the AR apprehended four persons traveling in two vehicles Scorpio and Santro Regd No NL-05-C0492 and NL-01C-6328 respectively. The four culprits along with the vehicles and liquor were handed over to North police Station Kohima, added the release.
DYO on renaming Dmu
DIMAPUR: Dimapur Youth Organization (DYO) while observing the issue of renaming Dimapur and interactive write ups by various organizations and individuals said renaming Dimapur was not an issue but was a hidden agenda by some individuals who wanted to “make something” out of for their ‘selfish’ interest.
According to DYO the issue was “suspiciously created” without the consensus of the cabinet and “so called committee” was created and dissolved without any formalities. DYO stated that Dimapur belonged to all Nagas and other indigenous inhabitants irrespective of different inclinations or affiliation and by renaming; it would create unwarranted communal differences amongst denizens of Dimapur. While appreciating various organizations and individuals for wise, enlightening and interactive write-ups on the issue, DYO lauded DAN government for closing the issue and declared to stand for peaceful coexistence of Nagas.
Double cropping training
DIMAPUR: Department of Agriculture organized training on cultivation of high yielding paddy converting mono cropping to double cropping under NEC programme on May 29 at Tamlu,Longleng. 60 farmers attended the training and inputs like paddy seeds, lime and fertilizers were distributed. key note address was delivered by I. Panger, joint director Agriculture, Yongchang Phom, SDAO Longleng and Wati Aier, SDO (Civil) Tamlu spoke at the training.
