Zeliangrong public convention

Zeliangrong General Public Convention Assam, Manipur and Nagaland was held July 30 under the theme “Towards greater height” at All Saint’s Higher Secondary School Auditorium, Peren. Minister for planning and co-ordination, T.R. Zeliang was the chief guest at the inaugural function.
Addressing the convention, the chief guest called upon the Zeliangs to uphold and respect their history for unity while recounting Naga Raj movement against the British Colonial Rule under the leadership of Jatonang and the legendry freedom fighter Rani Gaidinliu.
He also stressed on the need of preserving Zeliangrong unique identity by upholding culture, tradition and common history.
Others who delivered solidarity messages included ex- Minister (Manipur) D.P. Panmei, Retd. principal conservator of forest Nagaland, T.K. Zeliang, ex. MLA Assam I. Zeme.
The convention was represented by all Zeliangrong Students Union, Nagaland, Delhi, Zeliangrong Mipui Organisation (ZMO), National workers and representatives from the three states.
