Denizens of Dimapur experienced 12-hour power cut from 1: 30 am till 1.30 pm Sunday following damage to the insulator at Salesian College area, Kuda village, Nagarjan suspected to be an after effect of thunder and lightening that occurred at around 1.00 am. When contacted, Junior Engineer sub-division 1 said more than 10 electric staff were dispatched to detect the faulty line and after much work, they were able to restore the line in the afternoon. He said that the electrical staff cleared the trees in the area where the high tension wire passed through, despite opposition from the public.
