Pfütsero Town Mothers Association (PTMA) organized a rally on August 7 in protest against the heinous murder of Bedungoyi Lea of Tsüpfüme village on August 3 at Pfutsero town. The rally unanimously resolved to submit a public representation appealing to the concerned authority for a prompt action against the culprits of the heinous murder and plea for ensuring public safety.
The rally was addressed by eminent citizens including Chakhesang Mothers Association president Küthozülü Rose; Pfütsero Town Mothers Association president, Kereweu Pradiah, town advisory member Zhonelü Tünyi and senior public leader Yekhüse Tureng.
Later, the public presentation was submitted to the additional deputy commissioner, Pfutsero signed by PTMA president Kereweu Pradiah and general secretary, Wekoteu Mero. The mass rally attended by several hundreds of women was presided by PTMA Vice president Viekopeu Kenye followed by opening prayer led by Vesalü Swüro, women secretary, CBCC. The protest rally also endorsed the Prohibition Act of 1989 and condemned the sale of IMFL Liquor in Pfutsero town stating it was the real cause for such “inhuman acts of murder” and appealed to the administration for strict enforcement of the standing Prohibition Act.
According to Pfutsero Town Mothers Association, president, Kereweu Pradiah, the association in a separate incident on the August 7, along with the Police, security forces and Administrative officials of Pfutsero witnessed to the mass destruction of a large quantity of the seized IMFL liquor of different brands numbering 350 cases and worth Rs. 7 lakhs kept under the custody of the police at Pfütsero Town.
A seized contraband Ganja of 15 kgs were also destroyed. In this connection, the association appreciated the sincere and concerted efforts of the police, security forces, the administration and all those who are instrumental in the seizure of those illegal consignments.
