Karbi bodies have jointly called for 24-hour Karbi Anglong and Dima Hasao bandh, from August 23, 5 a.m. to Aug 24, 5 a.m., in support of their demand for creation of the proposed Autonomous state. “The movement for statehood will continue until the goal is achieved,” said Sing Timung in a press statement. However, medical and essential services have been exempted from the purview of the bandh.
