Nagaland Senior Citizens Forum (NSCF) Kohima has extended support to the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) move for Covenant of reconciliation of different groups of Naga factions. NSCF in a press release issued by President H. Hesso and Secretary Dr. R. Zinyü has appealed to Naga civil societies, churches and different factions to step forward to bring about meaningful progress and to move ahead for the betterment of the Nagas.
Meanwhile, NSCF has also welcomed the timely step taken by Angami youth Organisations on its effort to protect flora and fauna, ecology and environment. NSCF congratulated the organisation for imposing ban on use of air gun or sale of air gun bullets, animal hunting throughout the year in the areas under Angami jurisdiction and also for directing Angami region to reserve 10 hectares or more area as reserve forest to protect and preserve forests. NSCF stated that imposing ban for protection of environment was being in line with its resolution submitted to the state chief minister Neiphiu Rio on April 21, 2009. NSCF further expressed hope that other tribal youth organisation would also take up the interest in protecting the environment.
