Catholic community of Wokha district celebrated 25 years of priesthood of Rev. Fr. Anto and Rev. Sr. Deonisia for religious life as a nun with fervor and enthusiasm on September 19 at St. Paul Parish Church Wokha.
The Holy mass was concelebrated with Rev Fr. Anto Tharakan the jubilarian as the main celebrant along with 22 priests. Rovilatuo Mor Nicholas Deputy Commissioner of Wokha graced the occasion among many dignitaries.
Later during the felicitation programme held in honour of Rev. Fr. Anto and Rev. Sr. Deonisia, Fr. C.J Mathew vice rector and principal of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School delivered the opening speech.
Both the jubilarian assured the community that they would work with dedication for the welfare of the catholic community of Wokha parish and also vowed to remain faithful to their ministry.
Rovilotuo Nicholas, deputy commissioner, Wokha, dignitaries and about 15 sisters from different congregation with more than 800 faithful from the parish joined the celebration.
The celebration also witnessed special folk song presented by the Longsa catholic community. Various special numbers were also presented by various catholic communities during the felicitation programme. Brief history on the lives of both Rev. Fr. Anto and Rev. Sr. Deonisia were read out by Lucy Kikon and Samuel Ezung.
