DMC directs shops to open

Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) on Sunday, while reiterating its condemnation against the abduction of a businessman by miscreants and expressing its solidarity with the business community, however urged upon the community to call off the indefinite bandh which began Saturday.
The DMC, in a statement, directed to the traders/business community of Dimapur to call off the bandh called by them and resume normal business, considering that the abducted businessmen has been released, and also in view of festive season shopping which had come to a standstill, affecting normal life not only in Dimapur but the entire state as well.
DMC also warned that it would initiate action against any shop not complying with its directive.
Further, DMC informed all responsible that any organization/association will not be allowed to organize bandhs, agitations or any event under its jurisdiction without its consent.
