Season long IPM (FFS) training at Jalukie

Department of agriculture SDAO office Jalukie organized closing function of season long IPM (FFS) training on rice for 2010 on November 23 at Jalukie town hall.
Highlights of the programme included traditional song by FFS Jalukieram village, IPM skit by FFS Mhainamsti village as well as feed backs from three FFS Schools of Jalukieram, Mhainamtsi and Heningkunglwa village.
Renbomo Odyuo A.O who was in-charge of FFS during the year 2010 gave away his report in detail covering number of villages, and number of farmers benefited as well as number of IPM kits issued to the farmers at the time of season long IPM programme.
Henry Zeliang SDAO Tening spoke on behalf of Ronsenienla, deputy director Kohima said IPM was important in the present agriculture scenario and called for people’s participation was a must for effective implementation of the programme as chemicals effect human health and bring about ecological imbalance in the environmental system.
Imtui an advisory member of Jalukie Town Council also exhorted FFS farmers from three villages numbering in 100.
