Raising its serious concern over the spate of violence against women, girls and children in Nagaland, the Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) Thursday urged the state government to ensure security and protect the rights and lives of women and children in the state. The NMA condemned the alleged murder of a lady in Pfüstero by miscreants December 6 last.
“The Naga Mothers’ Association strongly condemns the heinous and barbaric violence against Mrs.Lonyiu Thira leading to her death at Pfutsero,” stated a joint communiqué issued by NMA president Abeiu Meru and general secretary Lochumbeni. While extending support to the stand of Chakhesang mothers’ association, the NMA demanded immediate arrest of all the culprits and severest punishment as per the law.
