NPMHR condoles

December 27, 2010 | by admin

Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR) has expressed shock and sadness over the demise of “political visionary” Surendra Mohan, who passed away on December 17 after suffering cardiac arrest in his sleep.
NPMHR secretary general Dr. Gina Sangkham stated in a condolence message that the organization, in its struggle for people’s rights, had found “many good friends” across India who stood for truth and justice for those who were deprived and oppressed, and that Mohan was one of them.
Describing him as not only a friend, but an inspiration and a fatherly figure in the Indo-Naga civil society relationship, Dr. Sangkham said the NPMHR remembered his life and works and paid tributes to “the man referred to as ‘the last Gandhian Socialist’ by Union Minister, S. Jaipal Reddy, and also called the ‘Directory of Socialist’ by his close friends.”
