DIMAPUR: Following the review of rate of pork whole sale and retail sale, Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) has reminded butchers to strictly follow its directive.
Advisor in-charge, Market Rate Control Cell, Vikholie Neinu has asked butchers to use proper weighing scale, which has to be fixed or hanged in a proper place for weighing the meat.
Cautioning butchers not to dupe customers, the advisor felt that since the rates has been reviewed, butchers should be sincere in their profession.
Neinu also appealed the public to insist on usage of proper weighing scale and not to pay more than the prescribed DMC rate.

GPRN/NSCN conducts surprise checking at Tseminyu
DIMAPUR: GPRN/NSCN Rengma region conducted a surprise checking for the second time along with NGOs and public on February 15 at Tseminyu sub-division.
GRPN/NSCN Rengma region chairman, Vikuto Semy stated in a press release that many HoDs and employees of soil conservation, fisheries, SDPO, veterinary, PWD (R&B), agri department and treasury office under Tseminyu sub-division were found absent from duty during the surprise checking.
The GPRN/NSCN cautioned that it would be compelled to take its own course of action on the erring officials.
Semy further said the GPRN/NSCN would also be conducting surprise checking on irregular teachers of GPS, GMS and GHS under its jurisdiction.
Police seizes 800 cases of assorted IMFL
KOHIMA, FEB 18 (NPN): Police personnel manning Peducha check post seized around 800 cases of assorted IMFL from a truck proceeding towards Kohima and arrested one person in this connection on Thursday.
According to police, the assorted IMFL consisting of Mc Dowell whiskey and Mc Dowell rum and beer were seized from a truck bearing registration No. NL-07A 2298. The driver of the truck, identified as Rameshwar Yadav was arrested. The arrested person as well as the seized IMFL consignment were later produced before the court and sent for judicial custody. Meanwhile, a case has been registered at North Police Station Kohima and investigation is on, police said.

Teachers’ re-orientation training
DIMAPUR: A 10-day teachers’ re-orientation training on suggested areas basing on quality issue was held from February 7 to 17 at EBRC Kubolong. Altogether 50 teachers attended the training program.
All EBRC members were participated as a team during the program. The areas included in the training included review on ABL, language, math, EVS, planning and administration, evaluation, ECCE, IED and TLM, discussion on different subject and presentation. Limitations encountered during teaching learning process were also highlighted and appropriate remedial action plan discussed.
During the valedictory program, coordinator Imchatoshi encouraged trainees to implement what they acquired during the training in their respective schools.
Training on ATMA’s role in natural conservation
DIMAPUR: Training on roles of ATMA in natural resources conservation for sustainable livelihood and healthy environment got underway February 17 at directorate of soil and water conservation, Kohima.
The training was inaugurated by R.T Asang Jamir, director of soil and water conservation department.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Jamir pointed out needs and importance of natural resources conservation for sustainable livelihood and healthy environment and exhorted participating officers of the department to accomplish the task at hand with sincerity.
The day’s topics covered roles and responsibilities of ATMA in the light of the revised extension guidelines by Dr. Amenla, state nodal officer ATMA and ‘Climate change: Its impacts and conservation forestry’ by Dr. Keyiekhrie Kire, conservator of forest. The training is being sponsored by ATMA and organized by department of soil and water conservation, Nagaland.
