Expressing concern over the postponement of proposed Highest Level Summit (HLS) of various Naga political groups called by the FNR, the Nagaland Peace Centre (NPC), Kohima said that when the collective leadership of the NSCN (I-M) arrived to participate in the meet, the absence of other parties for the HLS meet has forced deferment of “the most crucial meet called by the FNR.
Asserting that reconciliation was possible, only when all parties wanted peace in their relationship, the NPC said the most important relationship was “trust.”
“Without trust there can not be any reconciliation in the relationship,” said NPC executive director Lhusi Haralu and chairman N. Theyo in a statement.
Recalling that Naga Reconciliation meet was held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from June 1 to June 8, 2009 which resulted in signing of a document–– Covenant of Reconciliation (CoR)––by Naga political groups, the NPC said another important relationship was unity amongst “national workers” and to treat as brothers and sisters.
Maintaining that there need for some sacrifices that would enable the groups to build up a situation to prove that they were “real patriotic Nagas” also to uphold the CoR, the NPC members urged all groups to remember that FNR was sacrificing everything to redeem the “hopeless situation” likely faced by the national workers.
It also appealed to the “real Naga nationalist” to save the likely falling of peace and reconciliation and to strengthen all positive political forces to reunite the fractured national worker of Nagaland through FNR.
