In service Doctors, Nurses or Paramedic are not eligible for private practice and as per ROP 2010, the department of Health and Family Welfare has initiated more stringent NPA policy which has just been vetted by the Law & Justice Department and once finalized, private practice will be regulated. Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Kuzholuzo Nienu stated this in a written answer to a starred question which was laid in the floor of the house which could not be covered during the question hour today. As per the ‘Nagaland Health Establishment Act 1997’ Section 8 clause ‘C’ stipulated that before granting licenses to Private Clinics, Nursing Homes or Hospitals, the pre-condition has been set that no Doctors, Nurses or any other Para-medic or any other employees under the State Government shall be employed in such Health Care establishment. Further, he also stated that before issuing licenses or renewing licenses to private health care establishments, they are required to furnish the names of their employees to cross check compliance to the NHEA clause, he added.
